Reimbursement

by health insurance or health insurance for (German) civil servants

Self Payer

You always make appointments with me as a self-payer regardless of whether and how much you are reimbursed or not. Statutory health insurance companies do not usually reimburse alternative practitioner services, but they may be tax deductible to a limited extent. I can provide you with an annual receipt for the tax office for this purpose. If you would like an annual receipt please send me a message by email or via my contact form at the end of the year.

Privately insured

If you are privately insured or have a supplementary health insurance, these insurances may reimburse part of my fee (“medical services”). This depends on what you have contractually agreed with your insurance company. If in doubt please ask your insurance company what exactly they will reimburse in terms of alternative practitioner services. I will be happy to give you the numbers of the GebüH (fee schedule for alternative practitioners) that I can use in your case.

Bills

I will be happy to issue a proper invoice, which you can submit to your insurance company. The invoice will contain your personal details and a medical diagnosis. If the latter is missing, your insurance company will not reimburse anything.  Psychotherapy is often not reimbursed. Therapies in the manual field (massage, chiropractic) are more likely to be reimbursed. Spiritual appointments are generally not reimbursed.

I bill according to the GebüH rates. However, the rates are from 1985 and so low, that I do not reach my hourly rate with the maximum rates given in the GebüH. Depending on the treatment. I therefore charge higher amounts to reach my hourly rate. That means that a reimbursement by your insurance probably will be only a part of the amount you paid.
